Thanks for the Memories

-----
  • Such fond memories!  Here are a few of my most memorable...
  • "Dancing Queen!"  A Mu "instant tradition" thanks to Christine, who made us sing it for our very first entertainment.
  • Plotting with Boyko to steal Sam the Head (twice!) – First from Mattski, then from Schump…“All for one, one for all!
  • Pretending to be asleep for fun-night after photo-safari...I did have mono, but I wasn’t really asleep--I just didn't want to have shaving cream put in my hair...
  • Christine's April Fools joke with the fake initiation ceremony at the Bar.  Another Instant Tradition we played on the all of the following pledge classes.
  • Fitting 6 Mus (+ Audra & Gen) into one house, fondly known as the Barn.  And we each got our own room.
  • Arguing over who’s turn it was to do dishes at the Barn
  • Putting dirty dishes in front of Schump’s door when he forgot it was his turn to do them
  • Mo’s kick-ass Halloween costume, hand-made by her mother—a can of beast light.
  • Mo saying "I love you" to everyone and their brother everytime she was drunk.
  • Mo's "amazing" ability to bite into/chug a can of Beast.
  • Schump, Holly, Mo, and Audra dancing on kegs during a party at the Barn.
  • Amy grabbing Super-K's "breasts" when the Mus rolled the Nus to Boyko's
  • Playing in the ultimate frisbee IM league with Patrick, Mattski, Braly, AC, Bernie, and the rest of the boys.
  • Howard's talent show act where he dressed up in a dress and long-haired wig.  Can't remember what he sang...
  • Spending over $100 on one trip to Taco Bell on a "run for the border"--never thought I'd do that!
  • That damn beer nipple Braly gave me as a gift during Retreat!
  • Refereeing the Endurance Event (so fondly remembered) at Myrtle Beach '98.
  • Playing Star Wars Trivial Pursuit at Myrtle Beach, watching marathons, then going to the movies at midnight on the opening day to see Star Wars: Phantom Menace

And so much more!  Anyone want to catch up?  Better yet, anyone live near Chicago?

It's at a time like this that I have to ask, what would the Oxi that I
knew do?  We'd throw a party.  TOGA!  Seriously, I'm feeling inspired
and we need a reunion. [Eidtors Note: do I hear a volunteer?]

Wow. Living up here near Boston (home of the World Champion Boston Red  Sox),
it's been a long time since I've been back in Charlottesville or even seen
many OXi folks but it's still sad to hear that news.

I recently found my Omicron Xi Pledge Book (Second Edition copyright 1988).
The last time I checked on eBay, there wasn't much O Xi stuff out there. Now
that O Xi is disbanding, I'm sure the value of my Pledge Book is going through
the roof; check out my auction!

For those of you young folks out there, this Pledge Book is in "courier"
font because that's all we had. Ah, the days of WordPerfect on a DOS machine:
big charts of the functions keys on the wall (F1 for underline, CTRL-F3 for
bold, etc) and the only windows were the ones in the wall letting in fresh air.
Yes, before the web, when WWW was a typo of WWF - I think F6 might have  been
spell check.  And now the World Wildlife Fund took WWF away from the  World
Wrestling Federation (You mean to tell me that a bunch of wrestlers can't  just
take it back from some panda-loving animal nuts? At least the wrestlers  don't
take steroids like those baseball players. Hey, Hulk Hogan hasn't been
called before a congressional hearing.)

As for the memories, they are many. I remember when Royce  broke the back
window of his hatchback by slamming it down on the keg. I  actually think about
that quite often, although it's when I'm cramming groceries  and a stroller in
the back of a minivan. Times change, but at least I learned  something in
college: close the hatch gently, at least the first time.

I know I have some old Myrtle Beach photos up in the attic. I'll try to  scan
some in and pass them on. At the very least, I can always try to sell them
on eBay. After all, if I have an embarassing photo of two brothers,  why just
blackmail one of them when they can compete for the image fair and  square
through an auction!

I'll sign off with a couple of bits from the begining of the 1988 pledge
book (written by Brick, aka Herr):

Even when The Society was still quite young, it had already
fulfilled the motto of its inaugural year - "Instant Tradition".

It must be understood  from the start that those forming the Society
fall into two main classes: (1)  those who did so because they didn't like what
they saw in the other engineering  fraternities; and (2) those who wanted their
names to go down in history and be  able to write "founder of Omicron Xi" on
their resumes.  The latter, of  course, were the most determined and
ambitious.  But no matter, because in  the spring of '87, Omicron Xi came into being
and immediately set out with a  rush to expand its membership.

At least I'm not that old; spring of '87, I was graduating from high school
(Yes, I'm delusional. Current first-year students were probably born in  '87).

Hey, it was a great run and rushing O Xi was one of the best decisions I
made in college (we won't talk about the decisions that fall into the  "What was
I thinking?" category). Here's to "instant tradition".

Omicronly yours,

Joe King

In no particular order...

1. 2 pizzas for 10 bucks.  Anthony finishing his pizza in 10 minutes.
2. SHUT THE F**K UP!
3. Full contact koosh basketball and nerf weapons being shot at each other
at 9 am on a Sunday, regardless of whether you had a "guest" over or not.
4. Hockey in the living room
5. "Rescuing" Derrick in Kris' tank (which as Alex pointed out, had door
closing issues)
6. YoungerTaylor getting a rental car.  Suprised it still had tires after 2
hours.
7. Chesser driving w/ his knees while lighting a cigarette and drinking
a soda.
8. Feeding Myles ez cheese at 4 am in the deck kitchen
9. Playing golf w/ Ken, Drew, Chris, Anthony, Craig, Ski, Cramer, etc. and
the countless squirrels we injured.
10. Being remembered every time we showed up at the Staunton Waffle House by
the guy that worked there that had only 3 teeth.
11. Almost being arrested several times in four years (car bouncing w/ the
guys, running from ossifer Wells, etc.)
12. Overhearing 1st years drinking Derrick's punch saying, "This tastes so
good, there can't be much alcohol in here."  Finding them still at the house
the next morning.
13.  Taking my US driving exam at 19 years of age in a K-car.  Thanks
Anthony!
14.  Heck week being the most fun time of my pledge period.  I can't believe
we stole so much in so little time.
15.  Having Ken, the drunkest person at the party, talk to the cops and
convincing them everything is ok at the deck.
16. Shaving my head w/ Nils on a road trip to Va. Tech.
17. OlderTaylor discussing how a) we at the turf bar and grill should buy a
goat to mow our lawn and b) discussing how the large mouth beast light can
was great b/c he no longer had to crush the can while chugging to get the
beer out faster.
18. Nate chugging a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 and running the 10 miler...and
doing his best time.
19. Winning a 10 cent bet against Derrick over the course of a year.  He
paid up.
20. Shopping at Kroger w/ Alex Boyko only after 11 PM.
21. Tabletop Zamboni

Thanks to all for the great times and the great memories.

Hello all,

I am also sad to see O Xi disband. Here's some memories I have (for better
or worse :D)

- When Emerson ran over my foot, and Lenny carried me into the house in
case it was broken (it wasn't)
- When we rolled the pledges up to Boyko's house in NOVA... I remember some
disagreements over Pictionary rules, and a horrible drawing by Boyko for
the word "near" (he drew a scene from the Titanic). I also distinctly
remember Mason dive-tackling me to "scare" my hiccups away.
- Making pledges sing "I'm a little Teapot" as punishment for lousy
entertainment
- Email arguments about Star Wars that annoyed everyone except me and Boyko
- Subjecting my pledges to a 5am "backwards walking tour" of the E-school
during hell week. I also gave them the "turtle challenge"... finish a beer
before my turtle walks across the front yard. It was a sad day for O Xi,
only one pledge beat the turtle. (Matt Fleming)
- Mattski - how many times did you get your ass grabbed by an O Xi girl?
- Romary and the "shoe incident"... and subsequent rumors, which I
responded to by asserting that "I did not hook up with Romary".
- The Photo Safari or Lack Thereof. Yes, we went to Waffle House instead of
trying to find the other cars. But can anyone really blame us? We were
already halfway to Staunton and the hash browns were calling to us.
- The pride in my heart as I was presented with a certificate and a box of
goodies for winning the Robin Grossman award. :,-)
- When we had a pony keg race in our house on Piedmont, and Gen's cat
somehow wound up covered in beer.
- Watching OlderTaylor chug. The man is amazing!
- Being held at gunpoint by angry rednecks at Myrtle, then later finding
Ben Jackson hiding in the bushes (OK, so he wasn't hiding... but it
certainly looked like he was hiding at the time)
- Somehow fitting 7 rushees in the backseat of my Bonneville to drive them
to a party (Boyko was not in the trunk)

Finally, I'll leave you with the official BL0W J0B beer song:
I like beer
Beer is good
Eat it up
Yum yum yum!
Lorna: My friend Cathy is drunk if you know what I mean
Cathy: Cuz I be dancing all over the green!

Take care and drop me a line if you want to catch up...
Lorna

I'll throw a few of my memories in:

Not only do I remember Royce's Escort's window getting smashed, I
remember getting rolled with Freddie in that same car by Royce and (it
was either Don or Bill Anderson I can't believe I cant remember), who
decided it would be fun to roll Freddie during Ramadan right before
sunset.  On that trip I remember, me being too much of a chicken to
sneak into the Natural Bridge, the others getting chased out of the
Natural Bridge, the pleasures of Olympia, its in the water, getting
pulled over in Harrisonburg by a cop while our car is full of beer and
underage drinkers.  Thankfully it was just because we were driving
aroudn with no rear window.

I remember painting the bridge, several times.  I remember Dennis trying
to make sure we remembered the Service aspect of our charity.

I remember during one of Freddies frozen drink parties, which started
before noon IIRC, us realizing that we had an ultimate frisbee game in
minutes.  All of us barely being able to stand, and having just enough
players with Norm.  I remember that our opponents were the reigning IM
ultimate frisbee champions.  I remember that to avoid forfeiting that
Norm played, but only stepped on to the field right next to his drink.
My best memory though is the fact that we actually played better
completely lit and won that game.  (Hopefully we won, because that is my
memory and hopefully that wasn't alcohol induced).

I have a lot of  memories which are not alcohol induced, and are of good
people with great hearts helping others through the pleasures of
e-school while helping the community, but those aren't as fun to write
about (or read).

I will post more if my memory permits, but here are some thoughts in no
particular order:

1. My second thought was the Royce keg/Escort hatchback incident at our
pledge retreat in spring 1989. It is interesting that Carl and Joe King
also remembered that. Unfortunately, I think there was a lot more
property damage, and some painted faces too. My only sober memory of
that retreat was the top of Inning One of the softball game, which
lasted about an hour. By the time we got to bat, sobriety was a distant
memory.

2. My first thought - donating the money to the Diabetes Foundation was
the honorable thing to do, and for these brothers, probably the only
thing in these circumstances. One of the most important things is to
never give up on each other, and remember those who have passed on in a
positive way.

3. O Xi is now no longer under the regulations of the UVA drinking
policy - woohoo!! No more Double Secret Probation!!

4. We may be the only organization in UVA history to have had an office
called "Cool IMs", thanks John Greenhill (I think). I also remember
actually beating VSA in volleyball one year (not sure if things are
still the same, but they were really awesome when we were there).

5. It is a great thing to remember about the fun (and illegal) things
that we did, and probably continue to do. But to me, it is also
important to stand together in the tough times, and fighting for our
friends and friendship. Sometimes, it is all we have. Other times, it
is all we need.

5 (yes, I know I already have number 5 above, but this is my email and
I will number as I please). Great times caving and rock climbing my
last couple of years with folks like Gordo, Kelly Ou, Kris, Derrick,
Elena...others too numerous to mention.

6. Telling Tim Waters that when you smoke pot it goes into your body
fat, and then when you burn that fat, you can get high again. He went
swimming with me at Onesty Hall for over a month!!

7. 10Miler, 10Miler!! That had to be the earliest I ever woke up on a
Saturday morning. Starting doing them in 92 and did my last one back in
2003, hope to do more after moving back to the US.

8. First Highway Cleanup in 1990(?) - lots of roadkill, very old
bottles, unidentifiable applicance parts, and other things not
mentionable in this email.

9. Magnum - "Fifth Year Four" with Dennis (actually drank over 5 40s),
Jonathan and Rob (the only guy to ever drink malt liquor out a glass
instead of the 40 ounce bottle)

10. Beach Week -  meeting Christian Laettner and Bobby Hurley and the
Galleon and telling them they suck in basketball and challenging them
to 2 on 2 with me and Rob "ankle boy" Johnson. Then, puking in a trash
can and watching them laugh at me.

11. Dan's Diner.

My brain is empty for now.

Being in Tokyo, I am a little out of the loop (and my English is
getting sloppy), so it is nice to read these stories and memories.
Looking forward to more.

OK, gotta go play some ultimate.

Take care from Japan,
Miku

I know I'm missing some great memories - hopefully between all of us
we'll capture the spirit of OXi.  Here are the ones that came to mind
first:

On bid night, trying to convince the RAs that the liquid we had in our
squeeze bottles was ginger ale, not champagne.

Learning to drive stick in Ken's car in the Scott Stadium parking lot
so I could take a driving shift on the way to Cocoa Beach for Spring
Break.

Attempting to streak the Lawn during my 21st birthday celebration
(along with Nate, Chuck, etc.), but being caught by an ocifer while
just starting to disrobe.  Never did streak the Lawn.

The crazy stuff we found during Highway Cleanup - and oh, yeah, puking
on the side of the highway during the cleanup the morning after my
21st birthday celebration.

Sharing a Gusburger with Sachi on my first trip back as an alum
because neither one of us had tried one during our student years.

Sending out the "Email 101" rules to the OXi distro list every fall
after the tenth forwarded joke from a first-year.  (I guess no one
needs to do that any more.)

The test file!

Ken trying to hit a golf ball from a right-handed stance at Myrtle Beach.

Elena in her grass skirt and lei during our popular tiki party rush event.

Patricia the bagel pilferer.

Frantically trying to come up with Pledge Entertainment the half-hour
before the meeting and mostly ending up doing Teapot anyway.

Haiber's spectacularly sunburned feet (with stripes of white where he
casually swiped some sunscreen) at Dick's Sandcastle.

My mom meeting Ron Eliasek as he was taking some of Courtney's clothes
back to her dorm room.

The Puddle, the Deck, and all the great nicknames for everyone.

Mehetaville in the mornings, along with Ren and Stimpy: "It's log!"

Every year, the intense competition for the Robin Grossman award.

End of classes picnic at Lambeth.

Having to paper over the windows in the meeting room doors so we
didn't get caught with beer.

Scott (aka Sloppy) whining about how the meeting time interfered with Star Trek.

All of those Foxfields and the Foxfield-inspired poetry from Edgar Allen Drew.

The spring break ski trip to Canada - esp. Ken and Nate drinking
bourbon at 6:00 a.m., Ken kept thinking about working on his thesis on
the bus, and Nate puking into the snowbank the minute the bus arrived
at our destination.   How the shuttle driver couldn't believe we were
up so early to ski after partying so hard the night before.

The feeling that everyone understood what I was going through - and
everyone having the work hard/play hard/help your brothers mentality.

Our perennially short of people intramural teams - and the year we won
the IM championship and got t-shirts!

All of my Eta pledge brothers:  Anny, Bart, Cheryl Anne, Chesser,
Karhuse, Malinda, Marcela, Molly, Nate, Patricia, Romary, Sachi, and
Tim.

Let's keep the instant tradition alive among the alumni!  Maybe one
day OXI will become a student organization again - after all, we have
the second generation of OZ kids coming along nicely now....

I had some other thoughts:
-The memory of Schmidt and I creating a bogus ox ceremony where we dressed in black (with the exception of Schmidts white socks) and pretented to initiate pledges on Bernie's front lawn.  The Toys R Us Ox put everyone in hysterics.
- Field Hockey at the Dell - particularly that game that fell during Boyko's Mad Dog rampage - when the ref threatened to make us forfeit if we couldn't keep our spectator under control.
- Our rush trip to the mountain when everyone started to cheer when that stop light changed to green.
- Myrtle Beach when Romary and I came back from a walk.  The police had shown up for a raid and we could see a cop in every window.  Needless to say we kept right on walking.

That is sad news indeed.  I'll just add a few of my most vivid (I was going to say "best", but quite a few don't fall into that category..." memories to the list:

1.  Snowball fight in the MechE classroom!
2.  The "Theta Incident".
3.  Going to a rush party within the first couple of weeks of first year and drinking the "punch" - Mark Corner informing me that it was spiked (which I knew) and saying "I thought you said you didn't drink?".  My response:  "I didn't."
4.  Singing around the campfire at retreat and discovering that our accompanying guitarist, Anthony Curtas, had been overzealous and his fingers had bled all over his guitar.
5.  Far too many pledge skits involving "Star Trek:  The Omicron Xi Generation" (most authored by Alex Boyko).
6.  Tim Waters and the "Harmon Street Strut".
7.  Derrick tearing his leg up when he fell chasing down a very drunk Boyko.
8.  Late night "Email Barrages".
9.  Pledge class step aerobics class led by Malinda and Sachi Pace during "Heck Week".  I don't think I was on that step at the same time as anyone else in the class at any point during the class.
10.  Elena borrowing "The AMC" and later calling me because she couldn't figure out how to shut off the high beams.  (There was a button on the floor.)
11.  Speaking of Elena and "high beams":  Elena shouting "My boobs hurt!" immediately after getting off of one of the roller coasters with shoulder harnesses at Kings Dominion.
12.  Rolling George Council and Mike Taylor to Afton Mountain.  Mike put up quite a fight - until Tim Waters decided to sit on him until he calmed down.
13.  Streaking the lawn with Derrick , Dombroski and the Virginia Tech guy.  I wonder why we couldn't convince Totran to join us?
14.  Watching wrestling matches between a drunk Boyko and Schmidt, a drunk Boyko and Derrick , a drunk Boyko and... well, just about anyone.
15.  Drinking an upside down margarita served by Drew and, I think, Romary, and just about drowning since I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to swallow during the pouring process.
16.  Getting pictures of Garrison passed out on the bathroom floor at "The Deck".
17.  Getting pictures of Romary passed out and "decorated" by some of the girls (Don't worry Lorna, I won't mention any names).
18.  Early morning trips to the Italian Villa.  Late night trips to the Waffle House in Staunton.
19.  Oh yeah, we were also a Service Society - I guess I should add the highway clean-ups and the Charlottesville 10-miler volunteering.  Nothing like watching an Ociffer (on foot) pulling over a car that drove through a stop sign...
20.  Slipping down the muddy hill near the stadium on my way TO a rush party and getting covered in mud and continuing on to the party.  Why did you guys let me join by the way?

This very sad news, indeed.  OXi meant quite a lot to many of in our times
at (and after) college.  While it is disappointing to not see the tradition
continue, we will all never forget the memories and experiences we had
thanks to the brotherhood.  Anyway, here is a very small sample of some of
the things that I will remember most, and I'm sure I'll kick myself for
forgetting some after I send this.:

-Getting drunk for the first time in my life at a rush event at The Deck.
-Having the brothers come for me on Bid Night while I was folding underwear
and then drinking champagne on The Lawn.
-Having Drew make me yell, "I should have gone civil!" while running
around the cabin at retreat and climbing the big hill every year.
-Getting rolled to Afton Mt. with Garrison and hiding in a women's
bathroom until we got picked up.
-Having pledges read a drunk e-mail I wrote as pledge entertainment.
-Duct taping my hand to cup with a frozen drink in it.
-Running the cement mixer station at Heaven and Hell.
-Attempting "The Mad-dog Challenge" before football games.
-The dynamics and shifting alliances of Z's roommates, getting
kicked out of his house for quoting along with "Billy Madison" and nerd
traps.
-The proud feeling I had when my 16 pledges went through initiation and
being mocked for promoting "Pledge Unity".
-Meeting in the chapel after Sachi passed away to talk about all of the
memories we had about her.
-Too many stories with Tim Waters too recount here.
- At the beach refereeing at Beer Olympics, sleeping in the "gangsta den",
and the condition of the bathroom floors after a few days.
-Riding in Gardner's Suburban hoping the passenger side door would not
fly open.
-The fiber-optic cable running from the bar to the CD Changer at "The Bar".
-The room-trashing "incident" that got my pledge class all up in arms.
-Handel busting a hole in the wall in the Olsson basement during a
meeting.
-Volunteering to ride in a trunk a few too many times.
-OlderTaylor's chugging abilities.
-"Spamuel L. Jackson" and "Spammy Davis Jr."
-Nate's  rescue operation of Sam the Head from the top of the
amphitheater and sending Sam ransom notes to Dombrowski.
-George Council's angry reaction to cheating on a Hell Week quiz and his
"Playing our cards right..." comment.
-Anthony banning "40s night" at his apartment and some property damage was
done.
-Chesser appearing and disappearing at random times.
-The "Four Musketeers" of the Mu pledge class.
-Trips to Kroger with Bernie and Big John's Beans and Fixins'.
-Attempting to subdue Romary for a roll in the Scott Stadium parking
lot.
-"Think Safety", "Buns of Nils", "Beasthead", Miles the dog, "Ocifer", and
a crude nickname foe the "Flaming Wok" restaurant.
-Instructing Ours to not allow me to smoke and him driving me home
from many a night at "The Bar".
-The thrill of Waffle House runs to Staunton at 2 AM.
-Lots and lots and lots of Beast Light.

I hope all of you remember some of these things and OXi will always live on
as long as we keep the memories alive.

P.S. Please feel free to e-mail me if
you want to catch up on things.

This is very sad news.

A few memories:
-changing student advisors from a Trigon chick to Kim
-getting back from the first open rush party in our first year and being
concerned that the punch was spiked with rufies
-shaved heads and an electrocuted pickle for Lambda pledge entertainment
-Officer Wells and the collection of random stuff that made it into the
turf bar and grill
-Derrick behind the bar and learning the limits of an all liquor party (I
still don't remember what happened that night)
-Rolling the turf bar and grill brothers to the Waffle House in Staunton
(getting a shotgun pulled on us from Gardner, chasing the brothers along
JPA to put them back in the car, and being followed by the cops once the
roll was completed)
-not being able to gather everyone together for the photo safari because
everyone was too hammered
-Z's lecture to the Lambda pledge class and the initiation that
almost didn't happen
-The Jim Bob
-The Endurance Event that should have never happened and luckily has never
happened again

There's a lot more, but too many to remember, all great memories. It would
be nice if we can maintain the history and documentation of OXi, should it
ever need to be resurrected again or at least circulated among alumni. I
hope everyone's doing well and I'm sorry to hear the not so good news.

Some brief, but vivid memories from a founder...

1.  The first pledge class when there were 2x the pledges of brothers.
A couple of times the pledges rolled the brothers.
2.  Royce putting a keg in his Ford Escort and then proceeding to shut
the hatch on it - blowing out his back window.
3.  Off-sites at my Wintergreen cabin, so many memories, so few that are
repeatable. :-)  Frisbee and football on the golf course was fun though.
4.  Ridiculous sleeping arrangements at Myrtle Beach "dump" house for
beach week.  Nights at Crazy Zaks that ended with people getting thrown
into the pool around 4am.
5.  In the first year, creation of "instant traditions" since we had
none.
6.  The pledge bricks and the creativity that they fostered.
7.  Stephanie Smith repeatedly keeping us all from doing things that
were beyond stupid (stupid was far enough)
8.  Garvey remaining sober through it all, not sure how you did it
Paul, we must have been painful to watch at times.
9.  Organizing OZ in Randy's apartment, since EE was too easy for him,
writing bylaws etc were interesting to him, thus the lawyer gig.

And so many more.... but I am old now and my recall is not so good
anymore.

Wow!  The end of an era.

O Xi was an important part of my college days, and my on-going life.  If it wasn't for O Xi, I would probably have never met my wife Terri (formerly Terri Lindsay).  I met her at my first O Xi rush event.  I can still see her standing there across the Jefferson Room.  She wound up being my pledge master and my better half.

I also remember a lot of drunk people like Don Rissmeyer passed out on my couch 4th year on home coming weekend (before he was rushed to the hospital) and Royce Hernandez at the Del (no tomatoes, no mayonaise).  And how about the time we pledges mopped Beth's and Leslie's floor with Ammonia;  stripped that baby clean.

I've got to admit, I haven't thought about O Xi much in recent years, but the demise sure brings back memories.

In all honesty, if it wasn't for OXi, I probably would have transferred out of UVA after my first semester.  I ended up at the Deck for a rush party with some random people and by golly it changed my life.  Today has been an interesting journey of memories - my pledge party when the brothers stole our keg of Killians and raced it down the street, the unfortunate year of Six Cups, the oscar-worthy pledge skit script (after all this time I can still recite the entire Monty Python and the Holy Grail), the ill-fated Beer Olympics "endurance" event, and about 10 years of nearly annual golf outings.  Mostly I find myself thinking about the great friends I made and will have for life.  OK, enough sentiment, this event really makes me want to toast a Beast Light - well, maybe not.
